Dear colleagues in the ICH NGO FORUM,
the 2003 UNESCO Convention 5th General Assembly (5.GA) is approaching, taking place from June 2 to 5 in Paris.
For those of you, who plan to travel to Paris, we kindly provide you with the schedule of ICH NGO Meetings on the occasion of 5.GA. This will help you organize your travel schedule to the NGO FORUM Meetings:

–    ICH DAY at the Maison des Cultures du Monde –  June 1, 3 t 6pm
The 11th ‘Journée du patrimoine culturel immatériel’ in the Maison des Cultures du Monde  invites a group of experts actively involved in the implementation of the Convention to reflect on the effects of the inscription on the Representative List of the UNESCO 2003 Convention. We also warmly thank La Maison des Cultures du Monde for their hospitality to host the NGO FORUM on June 1st in the morning, which will make it easier for ICH NGO FORUM Members to participate to both programs on that day in this venue.

– ICH NGO FORUM SYMPOSIUM   9.COM Paris
The annual ICH NGO FORUM (to the occasion of 9.COM)  will take place on Sunday 23rd November 2014 in Paris, at the the Maison des Associations
Proposed topic: Reflection on developing visions and approaches to Decision 8.COM 5.c.1 “to promote increased NGO and community involvement in the development of policy, legislation, safeguarding plans and sustainable development plans (Recommendation 2)“.

More information and a call for papers will follow in September 2014.

NOTE: numerous efforts have been made to organize some interpretation (English-French) for the upcoming ICH NGO Forum meetings, but the search for funding has very unfortunately not been successful so far. For 5.GA it is probably too late now, but should any of you be interested to contribute or help fundraise for the 9.COM, detailed budget estimates are available. Any possible support can be notified at ichngoforum@gmail.com
For 5.GA we will have to rely on ourselves and help one another to whisper-translate during our meetings. We ask all participants for comprehension and cooperation to bridge the language gap and help the interpretation question to be addressed.

La 11ème Journée du patrimoine culturel immaterial à la Maison des cultures du Monde réunira un panel d’experts activement engagés dans la mise en œuvre de la Convention pour réfléchir sur les effets de l’inscription sur la liste représentative de la Convention 2003 de l’UNESCO.

Une rencontre à ne pas manquer !

Nous tenons aussi à chaleureusement remercier la Maison des culturels du Monde pour leur hospitalité en accueillant le Forum ONG le matin du 1er juin. Cela facilitera la possibilité aux membres du Forum ONG PCUÌ de participer aux deux rencontres dans un même lieu.

– Symposium du Forum ONG PCI du 9.COM, Paris
Le symposium annuel du Forum ONG PCI se tiendra le dimanche 23 novembre 2014 à Paris, à la Maison des Associations du VIIème arrondissement.
Sujet proposé : Promouvoir une plus grande implication des ONG et des communautés dans le développement de politiques, de législations et de plans de sauvegarde et de développement durable (Recommandation 2).

Traduction: DÉSOLÉS !
Malgré de multiples efforts déployés pour organiser de la traduction (anglais-français) pendant les prochaines réunions du Forum ONG PCI, il est regrettable qu’aucune solution n’ait pu être trouvée. Pour la 5.GA, il est probablement trop tard maintenant, mais si vous êtiez interessés à contribuer ou à aider à chercher des fonds, des chiffres détaillés (interprétation et équipements) sont disponibles. Toute possibilité éventuelle qui existerait devrait être signalée à ichngoforum@gmail.com.
Pour la 5.GA nous devrons compter sur nous même et mous entraider en traduisant/chuchotant pendant nos réunions. Nous faisons appel à la compréhension et à la coopération des participants pour combler le fossé linguistique et pour trouver une solution à la question de l’interprétation.
